Senate Bill 5486 would add more open-caption shows and require advertising and education

More open-caption movies may be coming to Washington State.

If Senate Bill 5486 passes, multiplexes of 6 or more screens will be required to show at least two OC screenings within each of the first two weeks of a movie’s release. Smaller theaters will be required to provide an OC screening within 72 hours of a request, or comply with the OC requirements of larger multiplexes.
