We’re sad to let you all know that longtime HLAA-WA member and friend Sandra Vidgoff passed away on September 4, 2026.

For many years, Sandra was a warm, encouraging friend at our Bellevue and Seattle Chapter meetings, and later, our Renton support group meetings. Sandra, often with her dear companion Ed Friant by her side, became a familiar, welcoming presence at picnics and events throughout the years. We even celebrated Sandra’s 90th birthday with her at an HLAA-WA picnic a few years ago. She and Ed attended eleven conferences, including several HLAA national conferences.

Sandra attended Garfield High School and Western Washington University, lived in the Bay Area with her husband Sheldon, and later moved to Bellevue. You can read more about Sandra’s life in this lovely obituary.
